A pump pit rebuilt so the next fix is a wrench, not a dig
Septic and pump work
The problem
A septic system stays out of sight until a fitting starts to weep. On this one the discharge side had no clean way to shut the pump off and pull it. Every future repair meant fighting the whole line.
The work
We repiped the discharge in the pit with a union and a shutoff valve right at the pump. Now the pump isolates in one turn and comes out at the union.
The result
Next time it needs service, it is an hour with a wrench instead of an afternoon in a hole.
